BIRD DOG TRAINING PROGRAMS

At Blue Collar Bird Dogs we train your dogs to their full potential. It takes hard work, dedication and time to discover, then develop each dog’s personality and natural ability. We use live birds and train in open fields in order to get the dogs used to the actual hunting environment. This is the basis of our training programs. To give the required time and attention to your dog we limit the number of dogs we accept each season. If the goal for your dog is to point, flush and retrieve as many birds as possible, we are here to help.

Introduction to Hunting

This program is designed to introduce your pup or adult dog to hunting in a fun manner.

  • For pups over 5 months of age
  • General obedience & manners
  • Introduction to the bird & gun

Length: Generally 4 weeks, but may vary depending on your pup.

Price: $1,500/month

Pointing Program

This program is designed to introduce and hone all skills needed to produce a finished pointing dog that will be successful in the field.

  • Obedience & manners
  • E-collar conditioning
  • Gunfire & birds
  • Pointing & retrieving to hand
  • Working the gun
  • Steady to shot
  • Quartering to the gun

Length: Generally 3-4 months, but may vary depending on your dog.

Price: $1,500/month

Flushing Program

This program is designed to introduce and hone all skills needed to produce a finished flushing dog that will be successful in the field.

  • Obedience & manners
  • E-collar conditioning
  • Gunfire & birds
  • Whistle quartering to the gun
  • Retrieving to hand
  • Hand signals and t-drills
  • Sit to flush

Length: Generally 3-4 months, but may vary depending on your dog

Price: $1,500/month

Conditioning

Your dog is an athlete and like all athletes in the off-season some skills and and physical conditioning are decreased. This program is designed to condition an already trained dog to prepare them for the season.

  • Review all steps for hunting in the field
  • Condition the body to work

Length: 1 month

Price: $1,500/month

Terms Of Payment​

First month payment is due at time of delivery of your dog to our facility. Each additional month is due the first of the month. Owner is responsible to deliver dog to us and return to home.

Progress Reports & Completion​

We believe in honest communications. You have entrusted us with your valuable pet, so, we will communicate regularly with you how your dog is progressing.


Vaccinations

All dogs that come to the Blue Collar Bird Dogs facility must show proof of up-to-date vaccinations for Parvo virus, Bortadella and Rabies before interacting with other dogs
